Welcome

On behalf of the Local Organising Group, I would like to welcome you to Mòd Phàislig 2023.

The Mòd was previously held here in 2013 and we are delighted to welcome Gaelic’s premier festival back to the town.

Although Gaelic is at the heart of everything at the Mòd, all events can be enjoyed by non-Gaelic speakers and this is particularly true of the Fringe programme.

This year’s Fringe has something for everyone. A full programme of children’s events includes Gaelic Kids’ Clubs and Bookbug sessions not only in Paisley but also ‘on tour’ across Renfrewshire.

A series of Family Cèilidhs are also taking place, including a multi-cultural cèilidh in the Tannahill Centre and a Spooky Halloween-themed cèilidh.

Bars around the town centre will feature live music to suit a wide range of tastes, and for the first time, there will be an official Mòd Festival Club, located in The Sneddon handily-adjacent to Gilmour Street Station.

Signature Fringe events include a concert celebrating the publication of The Francis Tolmie Collection and a spectacular closing concert when folk-electronica powerhouse Niteworks play
their only indoor Scottish gig of the year in the newly-refurbished Paisley Town Hall.

All in all, this year’s Fringe promises to be an action-packed line-up and we look forward to seeing you there.
